This modern dance mask was worn by men in rituals and ceremonies. It was purchased by the Museum in 1980.
Description: black, wooden, anthropomorphic face mask with carved eyes, nose and mouth; pair of pig's tusks with cuscus fur through nose; face bordered by two bands of white and light grey job's tears seeds; forehead decorated with band of white cuscus fur, five rows of white nassa shells and band of vertical black feathers bound in red cotton cloth; yellow lichen hair and beard; hair decorated with string of job's tears seeds.
