Map of worldwide meteorite impacts

A number of crater sites around the world date to the end of the Mesozoic. The Chicxulub Crater in Mexico is the most likely site of the extinction meteorite impact. The Shiva Crater has also been proposed. If the original meteorite broke into fragments, one could have formed the Shiva Crater while the other impacted at Chicxulub.
