Notes

Limpets can grow to 5 cm in length. They have an orange-brown-coloured shell. Their shell has many brown stripes.

Limpets live on rocky shores in southern Australia and Queensland.

Limpets are grazers. They scrape algae off the rocks with their rough 'tongue'.

Birds, whelks and fish eat Limpets.

Limpets have a strong muscular foot under their shell that holds them tightly to the rocks so they don't get washed away when waves break over them.
