Jellyfish Artificial Reef

This Jellyfish was about 500 mm across the bell. I came across it drifting in the ocean current. The open ocean is a desert for fish and other life so anything that floats is an oasis and attracts smaller marine life. On and around the Jelly were small crabs, shrimp were in the bell and around the tentacles and small fish were hovering on the fringes until I came too close when they would dart in close to seek out protection. Jellyfish are the ultimate spineless creature, they almost totally comprise of water - the same medium in which they live. Without water's support they literally spread like a bowl of jelly.
