Detail of ‘Batik Tulis' or hand-drawn batik cloth, designed by atelier Njoo Djwan Liem, a famous batik maker from Pekalongan, central Java, who made batiks designed for the wife of former Indonesian President Sukarno and other influential woman. The batik features a modern design of birds and foliage. Made in 1965, it was intended to be worn in the modern fashion of the time. Size: 106 x 242cm.
