Image: Homo ergaster skull KNM-ER 3883
Cast of skull KNM ER 3883, discovered in Koobi Fora, Kenya in 1976 by Richard Leakey. It dates to about 1.5 million years old. This skull was originally classified as Homo erectus, but many now consider it a Homo ergaster. Compare the shape of the back of the skull with Asian Homo erectus. The skull is thought to belong to a male due to its robusticity.
