Image: Hawk Moth of Mt Mulianje - Tom Wiliams
Late afternoon, Mt Mulanje, Malawi, Southern Africa. Descending from Chambe peak at dusk our guide spotted this moth. I had held up the party a thousand times that day, stopping to photograph small things, so our guide knew I'd love to see this. It was glowing in the vibrant fading light on the escarpment. I only had a few minutes to photograph it as we prepared for a 5 hour descent in the dark.
