Image: Giant Burrowing Cockroach - Tessa Noble
The Giant Burrowing Cockroach (Macropanesthia rhinoceros), found only in Northern Australia, is the heaviest cockroach in the world. Tho photo shows the cockroach crawling through dry leaves, part of its natural habitat. It was taken with a Canon S50 digital camera using a 3x optical zoom and framed both at an angle and slightly off centre for artistic effect.
