Image: Fresh Start - Nick Monaghan
I saw this Gum-tree Shield Bug on an old eucalypt by the banks of the Noosa River. The colour made me think it was some other species until I noticed the partly-attached nymphal skin behind it. Once it has dried, the bug will be a less noticeable brown.
