Additional information

‘A troop of geladas was making its way to the cliff edge to spend the night. In the soft light this strikingly beautiful male attracted my attention. It paused long enough for me to take a few portraits before joining its troop.’

The gelada baboon lives in the mountains of central Ethiopia and is the only true grazing primate. Males have a brightly coloured patch on their chest that they use as a visual signal and for display during mating.
