E078213 spear, wood / twine, Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia.

This spear is from the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. The cylindrical shaft of the spear is hollow at the top to allow a spear head to be inserted. The spear head is however missing. Twine can be seen wrapped around the top and bottom of the shaft. The spear was collected by Alexander Morrison in the late 19th or early 20th Century. It was acquired by the Australian Museum in 1982.
