E078205 club, wood / pigment, Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia.

This wooden club is from the Hunter Valley region of Australia. The club is carved from a single piece of wood. It features right-angled, flat, blade-like head that tapers to a point and a cylindrical handle. White pigment can be seen on both sides of the head and the top of the handle. The club was collected by Alexander Morrison in the late 19th or early 20th Century. It was acquired by the Australian Museum in 1982.
