E078181 shield, wood, south-east Australia
This shield is from south-east Australia. The upper surface of the shield features an engraved geometric design. Two holes have been drilled through the centre of the shield to accomodate a handle which is now missing. The shield is widest at the centre tapering into two elogongated stick ends. It was collected by Alexander Morrison in the late 19th or early 20th Century and acquired by the Australian Museum in 1982.
