Additional information
The Lake Murray people lived in large communal longhouses on the shores of the lake. For the first week, Hurley was reluctant to land in case of attack. The lake people were equally suspicious about his intentions, and disappeared into the marshes and rainforest when the Eureka approached their longhouses.
Hurley identified this longhouse as Dukoif but, as his party and the lake people could not speak each other's language, this name is probably incorrect.
