Image: Colourful Grasshopper - Carol Newton

This brightly coloured grasshopper was captured in N'Dhala Gorge, NT at about 5pm on 23/6/2007. I was walking through thigh high dry grass when this beautiful creature hopped onto the purple flower on this hairy plant. The background was an orange rock, glowing in the low late afternoon sunlight.
