E.85855, Carved 1990.
These carved emu eggs represent the variety of flora and fauna from the Broken Hill area. Badger has chosen to illustrate swans, river turtles, Darling River cod and Tunjilii, or echidna, hunting for ants on sand hills among the mallee trees and porcupine grass. The stands are unique and are made from a variety of natural woods, needlewood, casuarina and mallee roots.
