Image: Calendar holder - 1934
My significant cultural object is a small calendar holder hand carved from mulga wood. It is about 5cm in length and 4cm wide. It stands on a small supporting piece of wood that has been nailed to the centre.
At the top is an engraving – the date, 1934, and a greeting Best Wishes inside a leaf.
It is 77years old. The object was carved by my great grandfather for my great grandmother as a wedding present on their wedding day.
