Image: Brittlestar spawning
A brittlestar, probably Ophiarachnella septemspinosa, spawning at the same time as the mass coral spawning at Lizard Island.

The spawn is coming from the genital slits on the underside of the disc, adjacent ot each arm. You can see the spawn between the two arms at the top of the photo and also between the two arms on the right. These animals are normally hidden under rubble or in the reef matrix.
