Arachnivore - Alexander Dudley

The remaining box woodlands in the semi-arid zone of Eastern Australia are rich hunting grounds for the naturalist and photographer. While most people are tuning in to watch fake drama on TV, I like to go in search of the real drama that unfolds every night in the natural world. Lycosid spiders are common and easy to find as their eyes light up like green jewels by the light of a torch. They are always worth looking for and my efforts were amply rewarded when I discovered how hungry these spiders can get!
