An Antarctic Deepsea Smelt trawled by Ken Graham on FRV Kapala, at a depth of approximately 1100 m, off Shoalhaven Bight, New South Wales, 2 Aug 1984.  Kapala fieldnumber K 84-11-08.

Notes

A single species of Bathylagus is known from Australian waters. 

The fish in the image is registered in the Australian Museum Fish Collection (AMS I.25275-002).
