Subjects include portraits of Solomon Islands people, ceremonies, village scenes and activities as well as trading stations. Most of these images are identical to the Solomon Islands images in another album held by the Australian Museum (see Beran donation) but the captions are slightly different. Research suggests that the Beran album images were taken from the original negatives as the captions are sometimes more detailed.
