What have we been up to on Facebook and Twitter? Let's cut out the stats and paste in some of the more interesting social media stories.

Statistics are an important part of our jobs in the Online, Editing & Audience Research team, but it's also necessary (and often more fun) to report on the qualitative side of social media. Here's a small sample of the many hundreds of stories from last month.

Over on Facebook, two of our collection officers proved very photogenic (as did some of our objects)...

 

We shared a blog post by one of our scientists about her appearance on a TV show...

 

Another blog post about the Australian Museum Foundation's support of a special project became one of our most popular updates ever...

 

Musical group The Stiff Gins went on a creative journey through our Indigenous Collections...

 

And, as always, a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a new display was very well received:

 

On Twitter, we chatted with lots of people at our Menagerie exhibition launch including 60 Minutes' Charles Wooley...

 

Our ever-popular 'Drop Bear' page popped up again to at least one person with a great sense of humour...

 

We did our bit to relieve dinosaur tongue anxiety...

 

Catalyst's Pheromone Party got an interesting response...

 

And our staff photographer's blog post about a recent field trip was well-received too:
