National Recycling Week was founded in November 1996 as a community education and media program by Planet Ark. The goal was to bring a focus to recycling, minimising waste and managing material resources across the country.

“Now in its 16th year, National Recycling Week (NRW) is an established and highly regarded annual education and behaviour change campaign. National Recycling Week aims to improve the environmental benefits of kerbside, industrial and community recycling programs.”

There are events happening Australia-wide; from swap parties and battery recycling events to workshops and recycling facility tours. Just check the National Recycling Week website to find out what is happening near you.

Have a great National Recycling Week!
