Animal Species:Arnhem Sheathtail Bat
Arnhem Sheathtail Bats were only discovered in 1979 and very little is known about them.
Standard Common Name
Arnhem Sheathtail Bat
Arnhem Sheathtail Bats possibly roost in tree hollows, also perhaps at the base of pandanus leaves.
Feeding and Diet
Arnhem Sheathtail Bats eat flying insects. They fly fast and straight over the tops of trees in swamps and open forests as they hunt for prey. They do fly low when feeding over water.
Arnhem Sheathtail Bats are vulnerable to the loss of roosting places through clearing of native vegetation and to loss of feeding areas by land degradation through agricultural activities.
