Identification

The Yellowspot Goatfish has a horizontally elongated spot on the upper sides of the body and and a large black spot on the caudal peduncle.

Size range

The species grows to 35 cm in length.

Distribution

The species occurs in tropical waters from the western Indian Ocean to the western Pacific.
