The following is a brief outline of all the available venues. Options for available spaces and catering packages are entirely flexible and can be customised to suit your event - and your budget.
The Terrace gives stunning 180° panoramic views of Cook & Philip Park and St Mary's Cathedral, a stunning backdrop to the stylish modernity of the space itself. A balcony running the full length of the room allows natural light in and gives a bird's-eye view of the length of William Street, Hyde Park and the Woolloomooloo district. 
The Atrium's honey-coloured sandstone walls rise to a glass roof 20 metres above the floor. The stunning ambient light captured through the roof is replaced at night by dramatic uplighting. Our striking totem-pole stands at the entrance to the Foyer. The Atrium and Foyer can be hired together to give extra capacity. 
The Foyer is the best known part of the original Museum building. Built in 1868, this part of the Museum retains much of its original finish. High windows surround a spacious café area, and square columns support a high colonial-style ceiling. The famous sperm whale skeleton hangs in the roof-space. The Atrium and Foyer can be hired together to give extra capacity. 
The Skeleton Gallery is in the original part of the Museum. It is a double-height space overlooked by first- and second-floor mezzanines. Its 100 skeletons - including the horseman and the rocking-chair man and his dog - occupy a traditional space of dark timber and muted tones, lit to reveal its best features. 
The Albert Chapman Mineral Collection is a contemporary gallery overlooking the Atrium. Three display cases occupy the centre of its polished timber floor, and stunning precious and semi-precious stones collected from around the world glitter from displays in the sweeping walls. This modern space is mood-lit to enhance the beauty of its glittering displays. 
Showcasing over 10 full scale skeletons, this captivating exhibition is brought to life through dramatic lighting, projected scenery and astounding specimens. This amazing space provides a truly unique setting for a cocktail reception or themed event. The impressive life-size models include feathered dinosaurs from China, as well as a diverse range of carnivore and herbivore dinosaur skulls and skeletons - from the well-known T-Rex to the bizarre Cryolophosaurus discovered in Antarctica.
