Introduction
Semon's Leaf-nosed Bats have been found roosting in unusual places such as under a car door handle, in a dumped closet and oven, and hanging from a picture rail in a disused house.
Habitat
Semon's Leaf-nosed Bats roost in caves, old mines, cracks in rocks and under rock overhangs. They prefer very dark places. They do not appear to roost together in colonies.
Distribution
Feeding and diet
Semon's Leaf-nosed Bats feed on insects, often hunting in small groups. They fly slowly, close to the ground around the base of bushes in the forest as they search for prey.
Conservation status
Semon's Leaf-nosed Bats are vulnerable to disturbance from human visitors to cave roosts, destruction of caves by mining, and loss of feeding habitat by clearing and land degradation from agriculture.
