  • Go to Kidspace, a mini museum for the under 5s on Level 2
  • Go to Search and Discover on Level 2 to touch real specimens, look through microscopes, use computers, read books or quiz our friendly staff
  • Look for staffed Touch-Tables throughout our exhibitions and touch real specimens

Pushchairs, prams, strollers

Entrance

Please enter from our garden boardwalk on College Street near the corner of William Street. Admission can be paid at our William Street Reception Desk and a lift will take you up to our galleries. 

Getting around the Museum

There are ramps throughout the exhibitions and two lifts to take you between floors. All doors are automatic.

Bag storage

Bags can be stored in coin operated lockers in the Atrium on Level G. A $2.00 charge applies for 4-hour rental.

Baby change

Numerous baby change facilities are available;

Level G: A private baby-care room is at the rear of the Skeleton Gallery. A change table is also located in the ladies bathroom opposite the Skeleton Gallery.
Level 2: Baby-change facilities are found in the ladies and men's bathrooms and a shared parents' area is available in KidSpace.

Toilets

Toilets are available on every level. Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on both Level G and Level 2.

Food and drink

Café

Children are welcome in the Café on Level G. Highchairs are available and our staff will warm bottles for babies.

Picnics

If you would like a picnic, Hyde Park is directly across College Street and re-entry to the Museum is free.

First aid or lost children

If you need assistance please contact the nearest staff member, wearing a beige shirt with the Museum's blue echidna logo.
