Habitat
Inland Freetail Bats squeeze into small roost sites such as tree hollows, crevices and between roof beams and the corrugated iron roof. They roost together in colonies that are usually less than ten but can be up to one hundred. They often share their roosts with other microbat species.
Feeding and Diet
Inland Freetail Bats feed on insects. They can fly fast over the tops of trees, over water or along tree-lined creeks where they catch and eat insects while flying. They also can land and crawl quickly over the ground or tree trunks chasing and eating prey.
Economic/social impacts
Inland Freetail Bats are vulnerable to loss of tree hollows and loss of feeding grounds by land degradation and extensive clearing for agriculture.
