GBIF funded project to photograph type specimens
During 2004 the Australian Museum along with other Australian museums took photographs of many primary types of Australian species held in its collections.
Photographs were taken of the type specimens of mammals, birds, reptiles, fishes and molluscs. Many of these are now available on the Ozcam website.
Funding for the project was granted by GBIF, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility.
Australian Museum staff who worked on the project during 2004 include Mark Allen, Holly Barlow, Sally Cowan and Kerryn Parkinson.
