Really interesting happenings this week. Amazing Oarfish video and cool footage of juvenile Purplespotted Bigeyes. Thank you everyone!
The fantastic Oarfish video above was filmed at a depth of 62 m, in the northern Gulf of Mexico, just before midnight on 15 August 2011. The video is 10 minutes long but is SO worth watching! More information is available on YouTube.
We were also pleasantly surprised to receive images of a rare Headspot Moray. The fish was 'hiding' in a log that brought up from the depths in a trawl net. It is now thriving in an aquarium.
