Festive season follies from all of us here at Australia's oldest Museum. Happy Sciencemas!

And a one and a two and a...

In the year twenty thirteen, we used some smart machines, and so far we have sequenced 12 thousand koala genes

In the year twenty thirteen, we put sea worms on the map, With the 11 th international polychete conference (and a cool app)

The year twenty thirteen went by too quickly, we agree, but we still described 10 new fishes in the sea

The year twenty thirteen was also a little tough, with 9 hundred queries answered by our friendly staff

In the year twenty thirteen to the community a hand we lent by making 8 submissions to government

In the year twenty thirteen, we met some new faces with fellowships to 7 new science aces

In the year twenty thirteen we turned many rocks and logs and found 6 new species of reptiles and frogs

In the year twenty thirteen our researchers were busy as bees and produced 5 shiny new PhD’s

In the year twenty thirteen we didn’t forget little things adding 4 new insect species (per month), one butterfly with wings

In the year twenty thirteen, our researchers were praised by the hoards, and were honoured with 3 major research awards

In the year twenty thirteen, we may have reached a peak, with more than 2 publications per week

And we will be continuing on this busy route, as part of 1 brand new Australian Museum Research Institute!
